Album Info:When they said this was the largest railroad museum in the United States, they weren't kidding! This place was huge! I spent several hours there and barely had time to see just a small part of the collection! One of the things that makes it take so long to see everything is that many of the trains in this collection still run. The museum operates several rides throughout the day, and you can't help but find yourself running from one to the next. From steam to diesel, from subways to trolleys, beautifully restored pieces of railroad history await you the way they once did new. This album will have some of the highlights of the collection in it. I also went through Barn 7, where they keep their trolleys/streetcars, and I found where they park a bunch of the steam engines they haven't gotten around to restoring yet. Those will be in separate albums. I am looking forward to getting down there again this summer, hopefully more than once!
