Title:  Tucked in
Description:  The coal train has now completed its move onto the siding. The dispatcher will normal the switch, and the northbound will resume its spotty progress.

Surprise!!
Title:  Surprise!!
Description:  We pulled down to the crossing here at Mt Olive Rd, just north of Dorsey siding-the one place he didnt have a meet-and settled in, wanting to get the shot here with the creek high. Theres a crossing about a half mile to the south that you can usually hear them blowing for, but today for some reason, it didnt happen, and we got surprised. Still a decent shot.

Cleared out
Title:  Cleared out
Description:  I dont know if the railroad did some clearing, or its just early enough in the season that the right of way isnt yet grown over, but it seems the trees are not encroaching on the shot as they did last year. The 4701 rolls north under the Ark 59 overpass.

Flood zone
Title:  Flood zone
Description:  I usually get the shot of a northbound crossing Butler Creek here at Noel, but this was as close as I was getting today. Kingshighway low water crossing is at high water, and blocked off. The only shot was going away, as we see here. This was the last time wed see this train, as hed meet two grain trains here.

Perfectly posed
Title:  Perfectly posed
Description:  Not hearing any radio chatter, we went on up to Ginger Blue, planning to get the shot of the northbound here. When we got there, we found this southbound grain move sitting on the Elk River bridge. Couldnt have asked for a better spot. A pair of GEs(what else) leads over a rain swollen river.

Another surprise
Title:  Another surprise
Description:  We went back to Noel, thinking wed get one more shot of the northbound, but he was playing with the power, and swe didnt stay, since it was now getting toward 1800, and dinner was calling. When we got down to Gravette, we came up beside this southbound grain move. He had not talked to the 4701 north when we were at Noel, and we werent able to see it through the trees, so we had no idea of its existence. We caught up at Decatur, here rolling past the stuffed and mounted F 7, a single unit leading 100 cars. There are DPUs, as well see shortly.

Mails in!!
Title:  Mails in!!
Description:  The newly found southbound grainer rolls past the bank of mailboxes at Floyd Moore Rd south of Decatur. Trains have a hard pull coming south out of Decatur, and its not much of a challenge to get one downtown, and then again here, or in Gentry.

Title:  There we are!!
Description:  I knew a grain train wasnt going over the Heavener Sub with just a single unit, and I was right. Consecutively numbered SD 70ACes are spliced in 50 cars deep in the 100 car train. There will be one more unit on the rear, too.

Unusual start
Title:  Unusual start
Description:  Wed just come in from(where else??) Wal Mart, and while putting the stuff away, I heard a northbound working up the hill from Watts. When I got up into town, there was a northbound on the Lincoln St crossing, but also a coal train starting to move south, that snuck in on me. I was able to get his DPU, which had this surprise.

Title:  Waiting for a meet, and a surprise
Description:  There was some chatter about a train to the north, at McElhany, and it seemed my coal train was going to be held here at Noel. When I got up into town, I found it sitting at the station, now city hall, with an unexpected companion, the Loram rail grinding train, which had been working on the line earlier in the week.
