NS 925, a loaded Herzog Inc. ballast train, was reported to have SD40-2 help out of Altoona. Where better to get the full experience of westbound 40-2's in Run-8 than MG Tower on the east slope? We made for MG and made the image of the head end here as the clouds rolled in, 1:40 p.m. August 4. |

After a 16-year hiatus, we ventured back to the famous 'Ledge' just west of Horseshoe Curve via a hike up the embankment from Glen White Run. Shortly after, we were treated to a show: heavy NS 65J came west on Track 3 with 4 conventional EMD's, and was run around right in front of us by the faster 21G on Track 2, at 1:42 p.m. WOW. |
