Album Info:These are pics of a hot metal bottle car train passing through the IHB Michigan Avenue yard rom atop US 12. The regularly scheduled hot metal train is in transit from Inland Steel Mill (now ArcelorMittal) in East Chicago, IN to the ArcelorMIttal processing plant in Riverdale, IL. Always interesting to see these cars pass by. If you are trackside, you can feel the heat and sometimes see the glow at the top of the molten steel inside. Of course, the "aroma" of hot steel also abounds!
