CN local emerges from the forest into a small clearing as it hauls 9 cars northeast via the former SOO rails at Kremlin, WI on 1 Oct. '14. Train was heading back to MI after servicing Specialty Granules, Inc. (SGI) at Kremlin and setting out 24 cars for the E&LS at Pembine, WI. The train is starting to descend a long grade down to the bridge over the Menominee River. I don't know the percentage of the gradient, but it appears quite a bit steeper than average (not so much here but closer to the river). |
