Description:  As a Hoosier, it's always nice when I can post a photo from our Hoosier railraod history! This little yard swticher at the Frankfort, IN, shops now sits in a storage line asa few months early than the photo, it was "laid up" (retired) in March of 1949. This might be one of the last photos of the loco since about a month later it was sold for scrap in June of 1949 to the Purdy & Co. Baldwin built the little switcher in October of 1916 as Nickel Plate Road 0-6-0 #58 (serial #56311). Specs - 57" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 21x28" cylinders, engine wt of 173,000 lb and tractive force of 33,150 lb. The photo was taken by Kahn.
