PRR 0-6-0T #2797 - Peensylvania RR |
| Description: |
It's always nice for this Hoosier to share some Indiana railroad history like this remarkable little 0-6-0T steam swticher working in Warsaw, IN. Baldwin built this stubby 0-6-0T steam locomotive in September of 1905 as PRR #2797 (serial #26431, class B8). The little steam switcher was rebuilt to class B8a in April of 1928. After nearly 47 years of dedicated service, the little loco was retired in May of 1952 and presumedly scrapped. Rebuilt specs - 56" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 20x24" cylinders, engine wt of 167,700 lb and tractive force of 29,871 lb. No photographer was listed for this photo. |
