The train we rode to Wheat Ridge returns to the Ward Rd station. Well get back on board, and go back to Union Station. The Front Range is right behind the train. I 70 passes through town here, and quickly starts the ascent into the mountains. |

The G train at Union Station. We rode out to Wheat Ridge to get the mileage and see what was out there. They make you get off and wait at the station while the train pulls west of the station for its short layover. A better option is get off at Arvada Old Town, the stop before the end of the line, which has shops and restaurants immediately adjacent to the station. Downtown restaurants and other establishments are literally rock throwing distance from the platform. We'll do that next time we're out there. |

We have arrived at Wheat Ridge-Ward Rd on this G train. It will pull west of the station to change ends and return to Denver after a short layover. There is a lot of residential development going on here, as can be seen in the background, but thus far, not much for restaurants, etc, which will likely come later. Arvada Old Town is a better turning point if you want a bite to eat. They make you get off and wait at the station while the train pulls west of the station for its short layover. A better option is get off at Arvada Old Town, which has shops and restaurants immediately adjacent to the station. |
