Title:  PRR 2006, BF-16, 1955
Description:  BYC. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred R. Kern that was taken just East of the Brick Yard Crossing in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 23 July 1955. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2006 and two more "BF" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2006 is a BF-16 constructed by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in August of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, this A-B-A trio is approaching the Brick Yard Crossing with a mixed-cargo freight train on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West.
