PRR 5886, EP-22, 1965
Title:  PRR 5886, EP-22, 1965
Description:  12th Street. Here is an original photo that I took at the Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in November of 1965. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5886 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD. #5886 is an EP-22 built in April of 1950 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They're stopped at the Station to change locomotive and train crews, as well as to discharge and board passengers, before proceeding on to Harrisburg and points East. Notable at the right is the new-but-unfinished 12th Street Footbridge; beyond it, the old wrought-iron version will soon be removed.
