AT&SF C36-7 8047 after a storm at Corwith Yard in Chicago, Illinois on May 31, 1987, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 8047 was built in June 1978 ( c/n 41714 ) and was retired in November 1992 and traded to GE ( along with 56 other C30-7's ) on an order of B40-7W's. The plan was for GE to rebuild the locomotive and lease it ( some were later sold to Conrail ), but that didn't happen and 8047 was scrapped by Cycle Systems in June 1997. |
