Sadly, Chesapeake & Ohio 0-8-0 #235 is sitting in a scrap line with its name and number now crossed out. Oroginally built by Alco-Schenectady in August of 1930 as Hocking Valley 0-8-0 #235, it was later absorbed into the C&O roster and renumbered CO 0-8-0 #235.The final disposition is currently unknown but presumedly scrapped between 1954-57. Specs - serial #68462, class C-16. 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, wngine wt of 240,000 lb and tractive effort of 57,200 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so approximates were used to post it. |
