PRR 9486, FF-20, 1963 |
| Description: |
Diesels. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Columbus, Ohio, in 1963. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9486, an FF-20 built by Fairbanks-Morse in October of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in December of 1963 after just 15 years of revenue service. It simply dwarfs the imported auto parked next to it! Partially visible at the far left is the PRR's steam-era Roundhouse. Brad Mann Collection. |
