| Description: |
The new Siemens Charger SC-44 #4619 heading up the Saluki train on this day was delivered to the Amtrak Yard in Chicago in August of 2017. Unfortunately, this loco was later involved in a derailment in New Buffalo, MI in November of 2023 while heading up the Wolverine train #355 and is still listed as "wrecked". The incident and the subsequent cleanup caused significant disruptions to the Amtrak Michigan routes for several days. |
