Nice shot of Long Island RR 2-8-0 Consolidation #111 sitting in the Morris Park Shops area in Queens, NY. Built by Alco Brooks in April of 1916 originally as PRR 2-8-0 #8239 (serial #55765, class H10s), it was later sold in May of 1929 to the Long Island RR as their #111. The loco was finally retired and perseumedly scraped in October of 1955 after a service record to both the PRR and LIRR of 39 years. Original specs - 62" drivers, 205 psi boiler pressure, 26x28" cylinders, engine wt of 247,500 lb and tractive effort of 53,197 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
