All were built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton. #9597 is a BF-16 constructed in April of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. In this context, they're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train and are about to pass under Juniata's 8th Street Bridge and enter the Westbound Forwarding Yard for crew changes. William E.
