Lariat Crest was built by Pullman in service date December 2, 1929, Lot 6300, Plan 3973A ( 10 Section - 1 Drawing Room - 1 Compartment Sleeper ) named GULL LAKE, air conditioning ( Pullman Mechanical Brine ) added May 3, 1935, rebuilt as a Betterment car, August 8, 1940 to Plan 3973D ( same comfiguration ) renamed LARIAT CREST, sold to the C&S December 31, 1948, painted in shadow line an an unknown date, repainted in solid Gray November 11, 1955, withdrawn from service October 31, 1963, scrapped at an unknown date. The following is from http://www.pullmanshops.com/lariatcrest.htm :

Lariat Crest was rebuilt to Plan 3973D from Gull Lake August 8, 1940. It was painted into CB&Q Streamline colors and given four tread folding steps at that time. It was repainted to Pullman paint diagram CED4217C Shadowline at an undetermined date. In Late July and early August 1940, six heavyweight Pullman sleepers were rebuilt and semi-streamlined for the joint Colorado and Southern / Fort Worth and Denver Texas Zephyr service. The 10 Section -1 Compartment -1 Drawing Room Lariat Crest and Lariat Range; 8 Section - 5 Double Bedroom Castle Crest and Castle Range; and 12 Section - 1 Drawing Room Spanish Crest and Spanish Range.

Description:  Pullman heavyweight 12 section-1 drawing room (12S-1DR) sleeper WOODLAND (Lot #6360, Plan #3410B, April 1930), built for assignment to the PORTLAND LIMITED, remained in said assignment until June 1940, retained at the 12/31/1948 Pullman divestiture, sold in 1965 to Jack Ferris, d.b.a., Private RR Cars, Inc., later resold in circa 1970 to Bear Creek Scenic/Junction RR (Graham County RR) (Topton, NC), later resold to the Oregon, Pacific & Eastern RR for their "RR Town USA" static display (Roseburg, OR) and painted in IC colors, resold in 1978 to the Moody Foundation for their Galveston RR Museum, resold in the 2010's to Iowa Pacific and moved to storage in Alamosa, CO. The ANACONDA was built by Pullman May 20, 1924 as a 12-1 ( 12 Section, 1 Drawing Room, Lot 4763, Plan 3410 ) sleeper named Anaconda, air conditioning ( Pullman Mechanical Brine, Plan 3410A ) installed February 7, 1935, sold to FW&D December 31, 1948, shadow line applied May 31, 1951, repainted solid Gray January 11, 1956, sold for scrap at an unknown date. Hol Wagner, the photographer, notes: The dark spots and stripes on FW&D "Anaconda" are morning dew that had not yet evaporated in the early morning sunlight.
