LOVX RB 7297

Description:

LOVX Class RB 7297 in Bicentennial paint at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in April 1981, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. I attempted to find this car in the October 1971 issue of the Official Railway Equipment Register, but the closest I came were 40 cars in the 7100-7199 number series. That's a bit odd, since the car has evidence of once having a roofwalk, which would make the built date sometime before October 1, 1966. Just above the black TT on the flat car it is stenciled; BLT AX 3 195x, the last digit obscured by blocking the device on the flat.

SOO 1003

Description:

A pleasant surprise on a fall Sunday morning was spotting this excursion on the former Milwaukee Road line connecting Cambria and Horicon. The train was pulling 11 freight cars and a caboose. From what I saw on social media on the internet later this day, the excursion was paid for by a private group with a main focus on photo opportunities and and recording the sound for a sound decoder company.

SOO 1003

Description:

A look across a harvested cornfield just east of Randolph at a steam excursion, pulling only freight cars and a caboose. Information gathered via social media found this to be an excursion to record sound for a sound decoder and photo opportunities for those who helped cover the costs of the excursion. Some of us were just lucky enough to be driving around looking for trains on this day.

SOO 1003

Description:

SOO 1003 leads an eleven car and a caboose freight along former Milwaukeer Road (now WSOR) rails east of Randolph. The train will soon be crossing Beaver Dam Lake, which would have been a great spot to catch the train crossing the lake on a bridge if one had known ahead of time. One would need to know land owners or use a boat to get the shots, but they could have been awesome.
