MofW Equipment. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 15 July 1961. Shown here is the Pennsylvania Railroad's Snow Plow #497795. This unit was built by the Russell Snow Plow Company of Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, and was painted a bright yellow ~ like all MofW equipment. Partially visible in the background is the AIRCO plant, which produced great quantities of oxygen used in various operations at the Samuel Rea Shop. The access track to the Berwind-White Railroad Car Shops is visible at the lower right. Photo taken near the intersection of Allegheny and Blair Streets. |
