This older photo appears to be a builders photo of the Illinois Central wooden, open platform sleeper car named "Amboy" after the IC depot and division headquarters in Amboy, Illinois. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo. From "The Century of Pullman Cars", the Amboy is listed as having been purchased by IC. I would guess that Pullman built it but it could be Wagner Car Company as it was listed having built a lounge/drawing room car. Does anyone know for sure?. |
