NP 47507 - Northern Pacific |
Description: |
This boxcar has one of the largest reporting mark symbols ever used. The "NP" can be seen from "5 miles away" or so goes the 'old-railmen-tales". Coupled with the ying/yang logo, it makes for a very recognizable car. Rail fan Dick Berry took this shot while it was passing through the sleepy town of Wanatah, IN. This image was made from Dick Berry's original negative now in my collection. |
