Fairly nice color photo of Penn Central Russell snow plow #60015. Not much information could be found on this exact unit but it was built by the Russell Car & Snow Plow Company circa 1930's. It was an all steel unit compared to the earlier Russell plows made of mostly wood. This unit was not powered so had to be pushed by several locos from behind. No location or photographer was listed for this photo so approximate location was used. Since the date listed on the back of the photo would place this piece in the CR era, I am listing it as a Conrail piece as well. |
