| Thls loco has an interesting pedigree . EMD built it in March of 1971 originally as CN SD40 #5171. It seems that it was sold to Kansas City Southern some time after 1976. and possibly renumbered KCS GP38-3 #6621 (unconfirmed as yet). Then sometime around 2004, it was sold tothe Grand Trunk Western and renumbered GTW SD40-3 #5928 but still wearing the KCS gray and yellow paint scheme. It kept that paint until around 2016 when it received the CN red-black-white scheme with the GTW tag under the cab windows. Strange that this loco went out of the CN family roster only to be pulled back in at a much later date. No photographer was listed for the photo. |
