This sharp looking 2-8-0 Consolidation type steam locomotive was built by Alco-Schenectady in march of 1929 as Kewaunee, Green Bay & Western #49. It was renumbered in 1936 to KGBW 350. In 1950, the loco was sold to the Consolidated Water Power & Paper Co in Wisconsin Rapids. In 1955, it was put on display there. In 1981, it was donated to the Mid-Continent Rwy Museum where it received a cosmetic restoration and paint job for display. The loco is the only surviving loco from the Green Bay Route. This is a color slide by rail fan Jim Lockart and now resides in my collection. |
