| Everyday. Here is an original photo that I took in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 3 July 1965. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9423, an ES-6 switcher built by GM-EMD in November of 1950 and rated at 600 horsepower. It's pulling the five-car "Roaring Spring Local" through Hollidaysburg to the Altoona Yards with cabin car #477094. Looks like the head-end Brakeman's enjoying the breeze on a steamy July afternoon. Photo taken between the Bedford and Jackson Street crossings, in between Broad and Wall Streets. |
