| Waters. Here is an original telephoto view that I took at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-February of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2216, #2535, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #2216 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in March of 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower, while #2535 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in February of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train around the Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. |
