PRR 2204, EF-22, 1966
Waters. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-February of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2204, #2201, #2200, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. The first three units are EF-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #2204 was built in March of 1963; #2201 and #2200 were both built in February of 1963. They're pulling a westbound TrucTrain that will not stop in Altoona for crew changes. Visible in the foreground is the East Branch of the Juniata River which winds its way through Tyrone and Spruce Creek on its way to merging with the Juniata's West Branch near Huntingdon. Also visible in the distance are various locomotives and rusting rolling stock in the East Altoona deadline. Photo taken from above "The Hole," adjacent to HOMER Tower.

Robert Anderson General Super view. This photo says a lot. GP-30's look good even in dirty black. Thanks for being out there. 3/27/2018 2:15:38 AM
