Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-June of 1966. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2651 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2651 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in November of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. Wave to the Fireman! |
