Sunday. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 2 May 1965. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5764, #5704, and #5894. All are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5764 was built in November of 1952, #5704 in September of 1952, and #5894 in March of 1951. They're passing ALTO Tower with an 18-car eastbound passenger train and will soon stop at the Altoona Station ~ both to change engine and train crews, and to discharge and board new passengers. Photo taken from the 17th Street Bridge. |
