Winter. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 3 January 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5712 and #5860-B. Both were built by GM-EMD. #5712 is an EP-22 built in October of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower, while #5860-B is an EP-20 built in February of 1948 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. This A-B set is passing under the 7th Street Bridge with a 20-car passenger train on its way to Harrisburg. The time is 3:50 P.M. |
