Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2261, #2540, #2237, #2312, and #2413. #2261 and #2312 are EF-25's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each; #2261 was built in March of 1965 while #2312 was built in January of 1965. #2540 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in February of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2237 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in May pf 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #2413 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in October of 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. They've just come down the eastern slope of the Allegheny Mountains with a 93-car TrucTrain, and are now passing ALTO Tower on their way through Altoona non-stop to Enola. The cabin car is #477550. |
