| Electrified. Here is an original photo that I took in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 18 June 1962. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4896, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata during April of 1940 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. It's coming to a stop at the North Philadelphia Station with the PRR's "Tubular Train" ~ aka "The Keystone" ~ bound for Baltimore and Washington. |
