Winter Night. Here is an original telephoto view that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in February of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2299, #2656, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. #2299 is an EF-25 built by GM-EMD in November of 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower, while #2656 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in December of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They're pulling a mixed-cargo freight train and are about to pass the Altoona Passenger Station on their way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. |
