| Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred R. Kern that was taken near Cove, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1954. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9644 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9644 is an EF-15A constructed in March of 1950. Note the "dragging-object" detectors in the foreground. ("Tchowee"; #19 of 40) |
