| Description: |
Gallitzin. Here is an original photo that I took in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania, in November of 1960. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9542, #9550-B, and #9654. All are EF-15A's built by GM-EMD as EH-15's for helper service, rated at 1,500 horsepower each, but later regeared and reclassified as EF-15A's. #9542 was built in October of 1948 and retired in September of 1965. #9550-B was built in December of 1948 and retired in September of 1965. #9654 was built in February of 1950. They're parked (with engines off) at the locomotive servicing facility located on the wye connecting the east- and westbound legs of the mainline in Gallitzin. |

PRR 9542, EF-15, 1964 |
| Description: |
Chicago. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Chicago, Illinois, in July of 1964. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9542, an EF-15 built by GM-EMD as an EH-15 in October of 1948, rated at 1,500 horsepower, later regeared and reclassified as an EF-15, and retired in September of 1965 after just 17 years of revenue service. The road number of the Baldwin-built switcher at the far right is not recorded. Brad Mann Collection. |
