PRR 6102, EF-30A, 1967 |
| Description: |
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in mid-December of 1967. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6102 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD. #6102 is an EF-30A built in March of 1966 and rated at 3,000 horsepower. They're serving as tail end pushers on a mixed-cargo freight train heading up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where they'll be uncoupled and returned to East Altoona for further assignment. Also visible is PRR cabin car #477011, painted in "focal orange." |
