CRIP F9AM #4166 - Rock Island |
| Description: |
Here is a former Union Pacific F9AM unit still wearing tis UP yellow and red stripe with only a "Rcok Island" herald slapped on its nose. Originally, UP F3A 1558 had served for nearly 11 yeats before being retired in Februay of 1958. It was then rebuilt by UP and EMD into UP F9AM #537 later in February of 1959. The surplus loco was sold to Rock Island who renumbered it CRIP F9AM #4166. Unfortunately no date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so an approximate date and location were used. |
