CRIP F9AM #4150 - Rock Island |
| Description: |
This former UP rebuilt F3A unit looks great wearing the red and yellow paint scheme with the "speed" ROCK ISLAND lettering. UP F3A #1510 (nee-UP F3A 1453) was retired in March of 1958. It was then rebuilt by Union Pacific and EMD in May of 1958 with a new EMD 567C 16-cylinder engine installed along with other components and designated UP F9AM #503. It was sold to the Rock Island who renumbered in CRIP #4150. Unfortunately no date, location or photographer was listed for this photo so an approximate date and location were used. |
