PRR 5761, EP-22, 1961 |
Description: |
Harrisburg-1961. Here is an original photo that I took in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 23 August 1961. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5761 and #5710. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #5761 was constructed in November of 1952, while #5710 was built in September of the same year. They've just departed the Harrisburg Station with a Baltimore- and Washington-bound passenger train, and are about to cross the Susquehanna River via the Cumberland Valley Railroad Bridge. One of Harrisburg's hospitals is partially visible at the left. ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.) |
