Description: |
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took just West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 20 June 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7014, #7245, #7249, #7126, and #7217. All are EFS-17M's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7014 was built in October of 1955; #7245 and #7249 were built in October of 1959; #7126 was built in June of 1957 while and #7217 was built in November of 1957. They're pulling a 116-car fully-loaded mineral train down the Allegheny Mountains to the Eastbound Receiving Yard in Altoona. The cabin car is #477027. Note the emergency siding in the foreground. |
