| Description: |
4th Street. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in November of 1960. In the foreground (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9789, #9790-B, and #9873. All are EF-15A's built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9789 was built in February of 1951 and retired in December of 1967. #9790-B was built in February of 1951 and retired in October of 1967. #9873 was built in September of 1952 and retired in September of 1964. Parked on the next track over is PRR engine #7923, an ES-12 built by GM-EMD in November of 1957 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. Visible at the right are the seldon-used livestock pens, right next to the Yard Crew Shack and SOUTH Tower (not shown). Photo taken from the 4th Street Footbridge.
