D-Prints. Here is a print by Don Wood that was taken in Marysville, Pennsylvania, in June of 1955. Caption On Reverse: "Pennsy RF16 A-B-B lashup at Marysville, Pa., enroute to Harrisburg from Altoona ~ Brunswick Green & Pinstripes! June, 1955." Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #2005 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #2005 is a BF-16 built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in July of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. 12th Street. Here is an original photo that I took at the Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 24 September 1962. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #2005, #9705-B, and #9724. #2005 and #9724 were built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966; #2005 was built in July of 1951, while #9724 was built in March of 1951. #9705-B was built in May of 1950, rated at 1,500 horsepower, and retired in May of 1965. In this context, this A-B-A set is parked adjacent to the Station while its crew awaits orders to proceed up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. |
