Easily my most satisfying train chasing day since the move to Niagara – due mainly to the unexpected encounter with a CP freight transfer to the small CN Southern Yard. Seeing CP trains on CN track is quite a rare treat. And using the modified trackage in the Stevensville area linking CP to CN track to Fort Erie was even neater since these wyes and switches seb very little train action. |

I knew that the CP freight transfer would probably result in the train returninZ to CP Lambert yard (where they appear to be the resident switchers). So I parked myself on the Miller Road overpass and was treated to this shot. Note the wild entanglement of tracks in th` distance. It’s really an illusion. Basically, only one of the many branches is now in any kind of regular use. |
