Chesapeake & Ohio 0-8-0 #225 takes a spin on the turntable at Peach Creek, WV. Built by Alco-Schenectady in 8/1930 originally as Hocking Valley 0-8-0 #225, it was absorbed into the C&O roster and renumbered CO 0-8-0 #225. No final disposition is known currently - presumedly scrapped sometime between 1954-57 as were many other 0-8-0's. Specs - serial #68452, class C-16. 52" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, wngine wt of 240,000 lb and tractive effort of 57,200 lb. This is an R.D. Patton photo |
