Description:  Originally built as Bangor & Aroostook BL2 #556 but wearing the Saratoga & North Creek colors, somehow it was eventually purchased by a private owner and brought to the Hoosier Valley RR Museum. It looks spectacular in near mint condition and was started up not long ago. I have a particular fondness for the BL2's. They are the ugly EMD duckling but now looks strangely beautiful.

Description:  This EMD BL2 and its sister engine, 52, were built in 1949 for the Bangor & Arostook Railroad. The museum was quite glad to receive them because the Monon Railway employed several. Number 52 (which you will see later in the album) was pulling the diesel train on this particular day!
