This locomotive had been built in October 1966 as Union Pacific SD40 3052. It was retired on 12 Apr 1989 and was subsequently Preferred Lease Management (PLM) 3052, Morrison Knudsen-Motive Power International (MPI) 9049, Helm (HLCX) 6223, Transportacion Ferroviaria Mexicana (TFM) 1509 and Helm (HATX) 1509.
