NP 4-6-0 #1356 - Northern Pacific |
| Description: |
This loco was built by Baldwin in April of 1902 as Northern Pacific 4-6-0 Vauclain compound ten wheeler #1356. It was simplified at a later date. In 1955 as diesels were taking over the hauling duities, the loco was donated to Missoula, Montana for display where it has remained. Rebuilt specs - 63" drivers,200 psi boiler pressure, 21x30" cylinders, engine wt of 194,850 lb and tractive force of 35,700 ln. This image is from an original color slide taken by Jim Lockart and now in my collection. |
