Since the N&W pulled out in 1984, this line has been run by Northern Missouri RR; Chillicothe Southern; Wabash & Grande River, and twice by CBRM. At least one operator was reported to have been evicted by the sheriff. I shot the Wabash & Grande River here years earlier. |

The venerable loco was found where it evidently always is, behind the ex Wabash depot in Chillicothe. The future isn't looking much better aq the railroad was abandoned from just outside Chillicotge all the way to Brunswick. This is quite a sad demise of a onetime main line. |
