With traffic much slower on this line than it had been in other places the past few days, I decided that I would follow this train eastward as far as I could before I would run into another opposing trains. The H2 SD70MACs are getting pretty hard to come by these days, as a majority are either laid up in storage, or have been sold/scrapped. With the train head of them, C-NAMNMA0-94 ended up stopping just shy of downtown to do their crew swap. To my surprise, another H2 was in the consist as well, this one second (a majority of these motors do not have PTC, so they are trail or DPU only). To my surprise, I didnt have to wait long before the outbound showed up. One of the coal trains that was here the night before had finally gotten crewed up and was blasting off out ahead of them. Once they were gone, they began their journey eastward once again. |

The depot in Osceola was my next goal, but I began looking at Maps and a curve shot at 105th Avenue on the east side of Murray caught my eye instead. I wasnt sure if I had jumped the train again or not, so when I didnt see or hear any signs of it when I got the crossing I became a little worried that I may have missed it. But, not soon after did I begin to hear a deep rumble and the clear sounds of an EMD prime mover, and the train crested over the hill and took the curve. |

I had actually gained so much ground on the train that I was able to go to Caseys down the street and grab some lunch and top off with gas. When I came back the train still was nowhere to be found. It was pretty warm this day, and my guess is they were waiting on heat patrol out ahead of them. Soon enough, however, the C-MANNMA0-94 rumbled into town passing the BNSF MOW building located here. |
