Description:  Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Chicago, Illinois, in August of 1961. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5874 and #5762. Both were built by GM-EMD. #5874 is an EP-20 built in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. #5762 is an EP-22 built in November of 1952, rated at 2,250 horsepower, acquired by the Penn Central and renumbered "4262," and later turned into a roadside cafe in Duanesburg (NY) as New York Central E-8 number "4097" (circa 2010)!

Description:  This is an eastbound Pennsylvania freight headed by PRR 5874 just crossing the Illinois Central at the crossing. The Vandalia station, used by both railroads, is at the left. The Pennsylvania brick interlocking tower appears just right of the locomotive. At the left is a Pennsylvania work truck painted Tuscan Red and lettered on the door for "Pennsylvania Railroad" and "Brownstown, Ill." and the number "89190" and "Southwestern Div." on the truck body.

Description:  WIL-ALT-64. Here is an original photo that I took during a trip on Pennsylvania Railroad passenger trains from Wilmington to Altoona on 3 July 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #5874 and #5798, Both were built by GM-EMD. #5874 is an EP-20 built in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. #5798 is an EP-22 built in June of 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They're being coupled onto an 18-car passenger train that's bound for Altoona and points West. (Note the duplicate "PRR" insignia on the front door.)
